Why it’s important to have a content editing checklist for your team to use (+ downloadable guide!)

If you don’t have any checklists or benchmarks for your team to use and/or reference when creating content, it could be useful to create one (or some).

While a lot of the content creation process feels like second nature once you’ve been doing it for a while, it never hurts to have a guide or checklist to look back on to ensure you are producing the highest quality content you can. At EnticEdge, we’ve developed numerous checklists for our team to reference when creating content for our social accounts, and have found them more useful than we would have previously imagined.

Further, they are great guides for new hires when they start producing content for your company. If you have documented the specific process by which you typically generate content for your brand, new team members will be able to more effectively and efficiently generate high-level, up-to-par posts.

There’s A LOT to consider when you’re creating content.

Just a few things to consider might include…

In terms of the text:

  • Who is the audience?

  • Does the content flow?

  • Is the content digestible and easily understood?

  • Are you using emojis?

  • How do you feel about capitalization?

In terms of the design:

  • What feelings do you want to evoke?

  • What is important to emphasize?

  • Text heavy or visual heavy?

  • High contrast or low contrast?

  • Black and white or colorful?

Don’t worry, we’ll help you narrow down the list. We have created predeveloped checklists and found them to be immensely useful; they help to expedite the process and allow you to generate more content, more quickly.
